π― Role Summary
The Customer Success Engineer (CSE) is a key member of the Customer Experience (CX) team, focused on driving value, optimizing deployments, and ensuring long-term product adoption for Darktrace customers across South Africa.
This is a high-impact, customer-facing technical role requiring strong cybersecurity knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. You will work closely with Customer Success Managers, Renewal Managers, Analysts, Operations Engineers, and Sales teams to support account retention, health, and expansion.
π§ What You Will Be Doing
π‘οΈ Technical Expertise & Consulting

Act as a Darktrace cybersecurity consultant, supporting customers across Network, Cloud, and Email deployments.

Develop expert-level knowledge of the Darktrace platform and maintain relevant certifications.

Understand and align customer cybersecurity priorities with Darktraceβs technical capabilities.
π§± Deployment & Architecture Support

Conduct deployment discovery sessions and architecture reviews for existing customers.

Ensure customers achieve maximum value from their Darktrace environment.
π Continuous Learning & Certification

Stay updated on Darktrace product advancements.

Maintain external cybersecurity certifications (cloud, cybersecurity, networking, etc.).
π€ Customer Engagement & Value Delivery

Work with customers across various personas β from technical teams to C-suite leaders.

Document customer needs, pain points, value drivers, and success criteria.

Take full ownership of KPIs related to deployment health, value delivery, retention, and expansion.
π£οΈ Collaboration & Communication

Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams.

Present insights confidently during reviews, QBRs, and technical briefings.

Maintain accurate, organised documentation in internal systems.

Mentor junior CSE members and share subject-matter knowledge.
π§© What Experience You Need

2+ years experience in Customer Success Engineering, Technical Account Management, or cybersecurity technical roles.

Strong understanding of cloud and on-premise networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Experience in the cybersecurity industry is preferred.
