🌟 Position Summary

The Reactive Sales Agent (Reservationist) plays a key role in driving hotel revenue through effective handling of reservation enquiries while delivering exceptional guest service. This role is responsible for processing reservation requests, managing booking changes, and maximising sales opportunities through professional and engaging customer interactions.

The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence across all reservation channels while adhering to Marriott International standards and brand values.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

Reservations & Sales Support

  • Process all reservation requests, modifications, and cancellations via phone, email, fax, or other approved channels

  • Identify guest accommodation needs and recommend suitable room types and rates

  • Verify room availability and accurately input reservations into the booking system

  • Apply appropriate rate codes for complimentary stays, employee discounts, travel agent inspections, and wholesale bookings

  • Explain reservation policies clearly, including guarantees, special rates, and cancellation terms

Guest Service Excellence

  • Handle special guest requests professionally and ensure they are accurately documented

  • Answer guest enquiries related to hotel facilities, services, and room offerings

  • Anticipate guest needs and deliver a personalised service experience

  • Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues according to established procedures

  • Thank and acknowledge guests with genuine appreciation in line with brand standards

Compliance, Teamwork & Administration

  • Maintain confidentiality of guest and company information at all times

  • Follow Marriott International policies, procedures, and quality standards

  • Present a professional appearance in line with uniform and grooming standards

  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues and support team objectives

  • Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors


🎓 Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12 / G.E.D.)

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar reservations or hospitality role

  • Previous exposure to hotel reservation systems (advantageous)

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
