Job Overview

The Portfolio Analyst supports portfolio managers by assisting with investment portfolio management, client reporting, trading activities, and portfolio implementation.

This role requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a passion for financial markets. The successful candidate will help manage client portfolios while ensuring efficient trade execution and portfolio performance tracking.


Key Responsibilities

๐Ÿ“Š Portfolio Management

  • Assist with client portfolio reviews and performance monitoring.

  • Model and analyse client investment portfolios.

  • Support portfolio construction and implementation strategies.

๐Ÿ’น Trading & Market Execution

  • Execute local and offshore trades across asset classes.

  • Trade equities, bonds, foreign exchange (FX), and unit trusts.

  • Monitor and manage corporate actions affecting client portfolios.

๐Ÿค Client & Portfolio Support

  • Respond to portfolio manager and client requests.

  • Maintain high standards of client service and portfolio administration.

  • Ensure accuracy in portfolio data and reporting.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Operational Support

  • Assist with investment portfolio implementation processes.

  • Maintain detailed records of transactions and investment decisions.

  • Support portfolio managers with market analysis and investment insights.


Qualifications

๐ŸŽ“ Education

  • BCom or BCom Honours Degree (Finance, Economics, or related field)

  • Traderโ€™s Exam

๐Ÿ’ผ Experience

  • Previous experience in the Private Wealth or stockbroking environment (advantageous)

๐Ÿง  Skills

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of portfolio management and financial markets

  • Experience with X-Plan and BDA systems (advantageous)

  • Strong digital literacy and financial modelling ability

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
