Job Overview

The Finance Intern position provides graduates with an opportunity to gain practical experience within a regulated public-sector financial environment. The internship focuses on supporting financial administration, reporting processes, and supply chain finance functions within the NRCS Cape Town office.

Interns will gain exposure to government financial procedures, compliance frameworks, and operational finance processes while working closely with finance professionals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with finance administration and financial record management

  • Support the preparation and maintenance of financial reports and documentation

  • Assist with data capturing, reconciliations, and transaction verification

  • Provide support in supply chain financial processes and documentation tracking

  • Maintain accurate records for financial transactions and supporting documents

  • Assist with budget monitoring and financial reporting support tasks

  • Provide administrative support to the Finance and Supply Chain teams

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and compliance standards


Qualifications

Education

  • National Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:

    • Finance

    • Accounting

    • Supply Chain Management

    • Logistics Management

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

  • Suitable for recent graduates or students seeking workplace exposure

Skills

  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

  • Good communication and organisational skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel

  • Attention to detail and accuracy
