Job Overview

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering structural design tasks across built environment and industrial projects while working under the guidance of a senior engineer.

The role involves performing structural analysis, preparing engineering documentation, supporting construction activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will help develop safe, efficient, and buildable structural solutions for various engineering projects.


Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Analysis

  • Perform structural analysis and design for reinforced concrete and structural steel elements.

  • Develop structural analysis models and perform design checks.

  • Apply relevant design codes, standards, and project specifications.

Engineering Documentation

  • Prepare calculations, reports, sketches, and design documentation.

  • Produce technical outputs supporting approvals, tendering, and construction.

Project Coordination

  • Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, and MEP teams.

  • Provide inputs and mark-ups to drafters and BIM modellers for structural drawings.

Construction Support

  • Respond to technical queries and requests for information (RFIs).

  • Assist with site inspections and construction-phase engineering support.

Project Delivery

  • Manage assigned engineering tasks and ensure delivery within deadlines.

  • Provide progress updates and maintain clear communication with project leads.

Continuous Improvement

  • Apply lessons learned from projects to improve engineering processes.

  • Support efficiency through the use of tools, templates, and improved workflows.


Qualifications

Education

  • BSc or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Structural Engineering (Advantageous).

Experience

  • 3–7 years of structural engineering experience in built environment or industrial projects.

  • Experience delivering structural design and engineering documentation.

  • Experience working within engineering consultancy teams.

Skills

  • Knowledge of structural design codes and engineering standards.

  • Experience using structural analysis and design software.

  • Understanding of CAD and BIM workflows.

  • Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) modelling and interpretation.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Additional Advantageous Skills

  • Exposure to post-tensioned concrete design.

  • Experience in seismic design and detailing.

  • Knowledge of dynamic or vibration analysis.

  • Ability to use scripting or automation tools to improve engineering productivity.
