Job Overview

The Financial Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing and reviewing annual financial statements (AFS) for investment funds and managing the audit process end-to-end.

This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build expertise in IFRS reporting, fund accounting, and financial audits within a global financial services firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare annual and interim financial statements (AFS).

• Act as the main point of contact for auditors.

• Develop and manage audit timelines and schedules.

• Prepare trial balances using financial systems (Invest One, Paxus).

• Compile audit packs and supporting documentation.

• Manage audit queries and ensure timely responses.

• Update financial statements based on auditor feedback.

• Liaise with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.

• Stay updated on IFRS changes and financial reporting standards.

Qualifications

Education

• BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification

Experience

• 6 months to 1 year experience in:

  • Audit OR

  • Fund accounting OR

  • Financial statement preparation

Skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS (especially IFRS 7 & IFRS 9)

• Understanding of GAAP (Luxembourg & US GAAP advantageous)

• Knowledge of fund structures and investment funds

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills

• Experience working with financial systems (e.g., Invest One, Paxus)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
