Job Overview
The Professional Nurse will deliver safe, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. This role also involves leading and coordinating nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
- Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety
- Create a positive and supportive patient care environment
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records
- Lead and coordinate nursing team activities
- Support staff development and create a learning environment
- Ensure accurate use and recording of stock and equipment
- Adhere to all clinical standards, procedures, and healthcare regulations
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR
- 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing
- Preferred:
- Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
- Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri-operative Nursing)
Experience
- No minimum experience required
Skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training (ACLS/ATLS/PALS advantageous for specialized wards)
- Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control
- Understanding of pharmacology and nursing procedures
- Nursing record-keeping and documentation skills
- Knowledge of nursing legislation and standards
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Risk identification and management
