Job Overview

Feedem Catering is looking for a dedicated Cook to join its Retirement Division in Napier. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering meals that meet company standards and client expectations. This role is ideal for someone with kitchen experience who is passionate about food preparation and maintaining hygiene standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals including vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts
  • Follow recipes and menu specifications accurately
  • Coordinate meal preparation to ensure timely service
  • Liaise with managers regarding menus and daily kitchen requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas
  • Use kitchen tools, materials, and cleaning agents safely and correctly
  • Adhere to all hygiene and food safety regulations
  • Assist with preparation of meals for functions when required
  • Follow instructions from supervisors within set timeframes

Qualifications

Education

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Culinary qualification (advantageous)

Experience

  • 2–5 years’ experience in a hotel, restaurant, or catering kitchen
  • Proven track record in food preparation and service

Skills

  • Strong cooking and food preparation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards
  • Attention to detail and consistency in food quality
