Job Overview

AB InBev is seeking an experienced Operations Controller for its SAB Standerton Depot.

This role is responsible for overseeing distribution, inventory control, warehouse operations, safety compliance, service levels, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage depot logistics performance, optimize customer service levels, ensure legislative compliance, and lead operational excellence across warehouse and fleet functions.


Key Responsibilities

Safety Management

  • Implement and uphold AB InBev safety standards
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure legislative compliance
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly safety reviews
  • Complete annual risk assessments
  • Monitor mitigation plans

Inventory & Warehouse Management

  • Conduct random truck and stock counts
  • Ensure optimal warehouse configuration
  • Manage monthly stock counts
  • Resolve delivery complaints and customer queries
  • Conduct root cause analysis
  • Ensure delivery teams follow SOPs

Continuous Improvement

  • Track KPIs daily, weekly, and monthly
  • Apply DPO problem-solving methodologies
  • Drive benchmarking and process improvements
  • Maintain training schedules and staff development plans
  • Promote a problem-solving culture
  • Ensure 5S and housekeeping standards

Service Level Management

  • Manage SLAs with fleet, sales, quality, and logistics teams
  • Monitor refusals, stock constraints, and delivery performance
  • Manage logistics budgets and operational spend
  • Ensure stock and empties movement efficiency
  • Drive adherence to flexed budgets

People & IR Management

  • Conduct one-on-one performance reviews
  • Maintain healthy industrial relations climate
  • Engage with unions and outsourced partners
  • Support talent development and coaching
  • Recruit and develop diverse talent

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure logistics quality standards are met
  • Manage blocked stock controls
  • Monitor stock age and write-off risks
  • Ensure compliance controls and governance processes
  • Manage SAP time and attendance administration

Qualifications

Education

  • 3-year Degree in Logistics or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in:
    • management
    • logistics
    • distribution
    • warehousing
    • finance
