Job Overview

Capitec is looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst II to transform complex data into valuable business insights that support strategic decision-making.

This role is ideal for an experienced analytics professional who enjoys working with large datasets, advanced statistical methods, and business intelligence tools to influence real business outcomes.

The successful candidate will collaborate with teams across finance, marketing, IT, and other business units to uncover trends, solve operational challenges, and provide clear recommendations to stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Transform complex datasets into actionable business insights
  • Lead end-to-end data analysis projects
  • Analyse large and complex datasets using advanced statistical methods
  • Develop dashboards and data visualisations

Qualifications

Education

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical / Data / Technical or related field

Preferred:

  • Honours Degree in Analytical / Data / Technical or related field

Experience

  • Honours Degree + 5 years relevant experience, or
  • Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years relevant experience
  • Strong experience in:
    • data analysis
    • business intelligence
    • financial services analytics
    • banking sector reporting
  • Proven experience leading data projects
  • Experience delivering measurable business impact through data insights
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience

Skills

  • Advanced SQL query writing and optimisation
  • Python or R programming
  • Power BI / Tableau dashboard development
  • Advanced Excel including VBA and macros
  • Statistical modelling
  • Predictive analytics
