Job Overview
On the Dot is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead and implement people strategies within the business unit. Reporting directly to the Executive Manager, this role is responsible for driving HR excellence across all functions, including employee relations, organisational development, and performance management.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to leadership, ensuring HR practices align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with South African labour legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to deliver effective HR strategies and services
- Drive a high-performance culture through performance management processes
- Lead organisational design, transformation, and development initiatives
- Manage employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, and consultation processes
- Represent the company in engagements with unions and at the CCMA
- Oversee HR administration processes such as onboarding, remuneration, and terminations
- Ensure compliance with labour legislation including BCEA, EEA, LRA, and Skills Development Act
- Implement employee wellness initiatives
- Manage HR budgets, including headcount planning and expense tracking
- Provide accurate HR reporting and insights to support business decisions
Qualifications
Education:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related field
- Registration with the South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) is advantageous
Experience:
- 5–8 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
- Proven experience in employee relations, organisational development, and performance management
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR best practices
Skills:
- Strong business and commercial acumen
- Leadership and team development skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Results-driven with strong execution capability
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office
