Job Overview
Discovery Health is seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Clinical to oversee the end-to-end operations of multiple primary and occupational healthcare clinics.
This role focuses on driving operational excellence, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering high-quality patient-centred care. The successful candidate will manage multidisciplinary teams, optimise clinic performance, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations across multiple clinic sites
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures
- Ensure clinics meet operational, safety, and service standards
- Manage scheduling, capacity planning, and workflows
- Drive performance targets and service delivery outcomes
Clinical Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and clinical governance standards
- Monitor quality metrics, infection control, and incident reporting
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and audits
- Support implementation of evidence-based clinical practices
People Management:
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and staff performance
- Foster a culture of accountability and patient-centred care
Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients and partners
- Ensure client satisfaction through service excellence and reporting
- Participate in stakeholder meetings and site visits
Reporting & Data Management:
- Oversee accurate reporting and data management systems
- Analyse performance metrics to drive improvements
- Provide operational and clinical reports to leadership and clients
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate operational risks
- Implement business continuity and emergency protocols
- Manage incident investigations and corrective actions
- Monitor costs and ensure financial efficiency across clinics
Qualifications
Education:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Nursing, Occupational Health, or related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Business Administration, Public Health, or Operations Management (advantageous)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ operational management experience in healthcare
- Experience managing multi-site operations
- Proven leadership of large teams (30+ employees)
- Experience in stakeholder and client relationship management
Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (OHS Act, COIDA, clinical protocols)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with reporting tools and healthcare systems (Power BI advantageous)
