Job Overview

Capitec is seeking a Data Analyst II to transform complex datasets into actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making. The role involves working across multiple data sources, building analytical models, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver meaningful business solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling data accessibility, ensuring data quality, and supporting the organisation’s goal of becoming insights-driven.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse complex datasets to generate actionable business insights.
• Lead and contribute to end-to-end data analysis projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and data models using BI tools.
• Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends and risks.
• Communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance.
• Work with enterprise data platforms, including Salesforce data sources.
• Support strategic decision-making through data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, STEM, or related field (minimum).
• Honours Degree in a related field (preferred).

Experience

• 5+ years’ experience with an Honours Degree OR 8+ years with a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Proven experience in data analysis, preferably in financial services.
• Experience leading data projects and delivering business insights.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms and data models.

Skills

• Advanced SQL and database querying skills.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
• Strong data visualisation and dashboarding capabilities.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modelling.
• Advanced Excel skills (including macros/VBA).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and present insights effectively.
