Job Overview

Capitec is seeking a Lead: Software Testing to drive quality assurance practices and lead a team of test analysts. This role focuses on enhancing testing capabilities by balancing manual and automated testing while improving processes and team performance.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring high-quality software releases, shaping testing strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement within the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software test analysts.
• Define and manage end-to-end testing strategies across product areas.
• Increase automation coverage while maintaining effective manual testing.
• Establish and enforce testing standards and best practices.
• Identify and manage quality risks early in the development process.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and operations.
• Ensure testing outcomes are transparent, reliable, and well-communicated.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing processes and methodologies.
• Support release readiness and ensure high-quality product delivery.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).

Experience

• Strong experience in software testing (manual and automated).
• At least 1 year of experience leading or managing a testing team.
• Experience with test automation tools and scripting.
• Understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
