Job Overview

The Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining application software to meet business and customer requirements.

This role involves analysing user needs, building scalable applications, improving existing systems, and ensuring software performance, security, and compliance. The successful candidate will contribute to both new development initiatives and ongoing system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

Develop and enhance existing applications
Build new software solutions aligned with business requirements
Analyse systems and identify opportunities for improvement

Maintenance & Support

Monitor and resolve software defects
Ensure applications remain functional and efficient
Maintain application performance through testing and troubleshooting

Innovation & Improvement

Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements
Support change management initiatives for system enhancements

Testing & Performance

Conduct routine testing of applications and systems
Diagnose and resolve performance-related issues

Information Security

Implement security measures such as encryption and monitoring
Identify and escalate potential security risks

Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate documentation and follow operational procedures

Customer Service

Handle complex customer queries and technical issues
Provide support for application-related concerns

Qualifications

Education

Grade 12 / SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential)
Software Development certification, diploma, or degree (Essential)

Experience

Minimum 3+ years’ experience in software development
Experience with relevant programming languages and technologies
Azure experience is advantageous

Skills

Strong programming and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of software development lifecycle
Understanding of database design and application architecture
Ability to troubleshoot and debug applications
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
