Job Overview
Howard Financial is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to support high-volume financial operations within a fast-paced environment. The role is central to improving efficiency in the accounts payable function and accelerating month-end close processes.
The successful candidate will manage invoice processing, vendor relationships, and process improvements while ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Operations
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt to payment
- Process high volumes of invoices with accuracy and efficiency
- Verify and reconcile invoices against supporting documentation
Month-End Close
- Support month-end close processes by ensuring timely AP processing
- Reduce turnaround time through improved workflows and efficiency
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and implement process enhancements
- Streamline AP workflows to improve consistency and performance
Vendor Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor queries
- Resolve discrepancies and manage payment schedules
- Maintain strong vendor relationships
Qualifications
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Experience in high-volume transaction environments
- Hospitality industry experience (strongly preferred)
Skills
- Strong Excel and accounting software proficiency
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage large workloads under pressure
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and vendor management skills
- Process improvement mindset
