Job Overview

The IT Governance, Risk & Compliance Internship at Road Accident Fund provides graduates with practical exposure to IT governance frameworks, cybersecurity governance, risk management processes, compliance monitoring, and audit support activities.

Interns will gain experience working with IT risk assessments, compliance reporting, cybersecurity processes, and governance documentation while supporting cross-functional teams within a structured public sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

IT Governance & Risk Support

  • Assist with IT governance, risk, and compliance activities
  • Support IT risk assessments and risk documentation processes
  • Help identify and monitor technology-related risks

Audit & Compliance Support

  • Assist with internal and external audit activities
  • Support evidence collection and tracking of audit findings
  • Monitor compliance with policies, regulations, and contractual requirements

Cybersecurity Governance

  • Support access management reviews and incident reporting processes
  • Assist with security awareness initiatives and training activities
  • Contribute to cybersecurity governance processes

Vendor & Disaster Recovery Support

  • Assist with vendor and third-party risk assessments
  • Support disaster recovery planning and testing activities
  • Assist with policy and procedure reviews and updates

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain risk registers and GRC tracking tools
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and risk summaries
  • Support communication and collaboration across departments

Qualifications

Education

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
  • National Diploma or Degree in:
    • Information Technology
    • Computer Science
    • Information Systems
    • Risk Management
    • Internal Audit

Experience
