Job Overview
The City of Johannesburg is recruiting interns for the Transport Systems Management Internship within the Department of Transport. The programme provides graduates with practical exposure to transport planning, development planning, traffic engineering processes, and transport policy implementation.
Interns will support projects focused on improving transportation systems and urban mobility across Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities
The City of Johannesburg will require interns to:
- Assist with transport planning and development planning activities
- Support the implementation of transport policies and regulations
- Contribute to strategies aimed at improving transportation system performance
- Assist in evaluating traffic impact studies generating more than 1500 vehicle trips
- Support the development of nodal transport plans within the City of Johannesburg
- Assist with implementing transport-related policies such as Security Access Restrictions Policy
- Participate in stakeholder consultation processes for transport projects and programmes
- Support technical reporting and administrative duties within the department
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a:
- Diploma or Degree in:
- Civil Engineering
- Town and Regional Planning
- Transport Management
Skills and Competencies
