Job Overview
The City of Johannesburg is recruiting graduates for the Quantity Surveyor Internship within the Department of Transport. The internship programme is designed to provide practical experience in transport infrastructure cost management, project monitoring, budgeting, and quantity surveying processes.
Interns will gain exposure to infrastructure projects including taxi ranks, BRT stations, roadways, non-motorised transport facilities, and maintenance programmes.
Key Responsibilities
The City of Johannesburg will require interns to:
- Prepare and review quantities for transport infrastructure programmes
- Assist with quantity measurements for Interim Payment Certificates
- Monitor invoices and claims submitted by implementing agents
- Support cost management and budget monitoring processes
- Track project progress against timelines and deliverables
- Assist in evaluating project value and performance indicators
- Help identify and manage project-related risks proactively
- Support reporting and administrative functions related to infrastructure projects
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- B Degree in Quantity Surveying at NQF Level 7
