Job Overview

SMD Technologies is looking for a proactive and organised Sales Administrator to support independent client accounts and assist with daily sales administration functions. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth order processing, accurate data management, and excellent customer service delivery.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage multiple administrative and client-related tasks simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities

  • Resolve independent client issues and complaints professionally
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to support client accounts
  • Manage and fulfil client requirements efficiently
  • Perform accurate data capturing and reporting
  • Process customer orders from receipt through to delivery
  • Follow up on orders and ensure timely communication with clients
  • Provide regular feedback to internal teams and customers
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date filing systems
  • Assess and evaluate customer needs and expectations
  • Assist in preparing for client meetings and engagements
  • Send reminders regarding appointments and meetings
  • Recommend workflow improvements to enhance office efficiency
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and direct messages appropriately
  • Ensure all deadlines and administrative targets are met

Qualifications

Education

  • Matric certificate required
  • Relevant NQF Level 7 qualification or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience

  • 1–3 years’ experience in sales administration or a similar role

Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of accounting systems such as Pastel or SAP advantageous
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple client accounts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Time management and deadline-driven approach

Additional Requirements

  • Valid South African driver’s license
  • Own reliable vehicle required
