WILDTRUST, a leading environmental organization in South Africa, in partnership with Nedbank, invites unemployed youth to apply for the 2025 Youth Employment Services (YES) Programme! This initiative provides a one-year, hands-on job training experience to equip young South Africans with valuable skills for sustainable careers.

📌 What is the WILDTRUST YES Programme?

This initiative is designed to help unemployed youth gain real-world experience in environmental conservation, community development, and essential workplace skills. Selected candidates will work in various roles supporting WILDTRUST’s conservation and sustainability projects.

✅ Who Can Apply?

✔️ South African citizen, aged 18 – 27 🇿🇦
✔️ Grade 12 certificate (Matric) 🎓
✔️ Must have a valid email address & SARS income tax number ✉️
✔️ Previously disadvantaged individuals are prioritized
✔️ Must NOT have participated in a YES Programme before

🌱 Available Positions & Key Responsibilities

🔹 Coastal Stewards Assistant 🌊
✔️ Participate in coastal clean-ups & dune restoration
✔️ Raise awareness about ocean conservation

🔹 Community Livelihood Assistant 🌾
✔️ Teach sustainable gardening techniques
✔️ Support alternative livelihood projects

🔹 Cleaner 🧹
✔️ Maintain cleanliness in community hubs
✔️ Assist with waste disposal & event setups

🔹 Maintenance Assistant 🔧
✔️ Perform basic plumbing & electrical maintenance
✔️ Keep community hubs in excellent condition

🔹 Oceans and Awareness Assistant 📚
✔️ Provide admin support & manage educational materials
✔️ Facilitate community environmental awareness sessions

🔹 Restoration Assistant 🌱
✔️ Manage plant nurseries & support ecosystem restoration
✔️ Educate communities on plant care

🔹 Ocean and Climate Awareness & School Support Assistant 🌎
✔️ Create & deliver educational sessions in schools
✔️ Develop learning materials on climate change

🔹 Coastal Dune Rehabilitation Worker 🌿
✔️ Remove invasive plant species & plant indigenous trees
✔️ Assist in beach & dune restoration projects

🔹 Swamp Forest Rehabilitation Worker 🌲
✔️ Participate in conservation activities & tree planting
✔️ Remove invasive plants & support habitat restoration

🔹 Wetland Rehabilitation Worker 🏞️
✔️ Assist in wetland conservation projects
✔️ Support environmental education initiatives

🔹 Riparian Rehabilitation Worker 🌊
✔️ Restore riparian zones & collect litter
✔️ Conduct environmental monitoring activities
