Position Overview: Academic and Student Experience Manager
Eduvos is looking for a dynamic and experienced Academic and Student Experience Manager to join our Umhlanga campus. This full-time, permanent position is pivotal in ensuring an exceptional student experience, both in and outside the classroom. The ideal candidate will be someone who is passionate about student success and will focus on the overall student experience, from onboarding to retention, ensuring that students thrive in their academic and personal journey.
Key Responsibilities
π Student Retention & Support
- Develop and implement a student experience journey that includes social events, wellness programs, academic support, and governance.
- Facilitate orientation, onboarding, and induction processes to ensure smooth transitions for students.
- Monitor student engagement through various programs like wellness initiatives, academic support, and employability workshops.
π« Academic Support & Compliance
- Collaborate with faculty to provide academic support programs and ensure student feedback is integrated into the academic experience.
- Ensure that students are compliant with institutional policies and provide support for disciplinary procedures when necessary.
- Organize graduation events, career fairs, and other key student engagement events on campus.
πΌ Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead a team dedicated to student success and experience, fostering a culture of student-centric leadership.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, including sponsors, faculty, and student organizations.
- Chair the student disciplinary committee, managing inquiries and ensuring compliance with student conduct regulations.
π Operational & Event Management
- Oversee event logistics, ensuring successful execution of key student-centric events like graduation ceremonies and career fairs.
- Ensure that facilities and venues meet compliance standards and support student needs.
- Implement and manage service level agreements (SLAs) and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure smooth campus operations.
Functional and Behavioural Competencies
π§ Functional Competencies:
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with relevant student management systems.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Experience with case management systems and SLA management.
π‘ Behavioural Competencies:
- Strong initiative and responsibility to take ownership of key projects and student experience initiatives.
- Excellent people leadership skills, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to organizing tasks and managing challenges.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
π Essential Requirements:
- Honours Degree or a Postgraduate Diploma in management or a related field.
- A minimum of three yearsβ managerial experience in an academic environment.
- At least five yearsβ experience in service or customer management, preferably within higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to manage student engagement programs and ensure student success.
- Strong computer literacy and experience working with student management systems.
π Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Project management certification or experience in managing complex initiatives.
