About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Cape Town. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for the full accounting function, including preparing cash book entries, handling tax reporting, and preparing financial statements for various stakeholders. Main Responsibilities:
Cash Book and Payments: Prepare and review cash book entries, process payments, and manage fee income receipts.
Journal Entries: Prepare monthly journal entries and manage credit card transactions.
Financial Reporting: Prepare management income statements and analysis of income against budgets and assets.
Regulatory Reporting: Provide quarterly and annual reporting, including tax-related reports for Namibia and Botswana.
Tax Returns and Payments: Handle VAT, income tax, and WHT returns, and follow up with authorities as necessary.
Board Reports: Prepare financial reports for the board of directors’ meetings.
Ad-Hoc Reporting: Assist with ad-hoc regulatory reporting requirements.


Skills and Competencies:
Attention to Detail: Quickly detect errors and resolve them efficiently.
Aptitude for Numbers: Comfortable with routine work and financial calculations.
Independence: Able to work autonomously and complete tasks successfully.
Rule-Focused: Strong adherence to procedures and rules.

Technical Requirements:
Microsoft Excel: Proficiency at an intermediate to advanced level.
Business Central: Experience with the Business Central accounting system is highly preferred.


Education and Experience:
Degree: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (BCom, BAccSc, BCompt, or equivalent).
Experience: 3-5 years post-qualification experience in financial services or a similar field is preferred.
