Job Overview
The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) seeks an experienced Accountant: Financial Strategy to collect, analyse, and process accurate financial data to support Management Accountants and senior leadership. The role involves financial reporting, budget preparation, variance analysis, CAPEX allocations, and ensuring compliance with governance, risk, and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Analyse weekly sales and expense data and provide reports to Management Accountants

Prepare and process journals and reallocations
-
Monitor Procure-to-Pay processes within scope of control
-
Review open orders, follow up on aging transactions, and provide feedback to process owners
-
Compile data for budgets, forecasts, and strategic reports
-
Allocate CAPEX motivations and monitor returns on capital assets
-
Support internal and external audits and regulatory compliance
-
Maintain risk management standards in line with ISO and company policies

Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships

Resolve queries, complaints, and ensure timely communication to relevant parties

Perform ad-hoc financial strategy tasks as requested by management
Minimum Requirements
-
National Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, or related field

NQF Level 6
-
Minimum 3 yearsβ relevant work experience in Management Accounting

Proven experience processing journals, reviewing general ledger accounts, and analysing expenses

Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and within a team

Knowledge of risk, compliance, and audit principles
