Job Purpose:

As an Accountant Global Grade 11, you will play a critical role in managing and ensuring the accuracy of financial operations and reporting. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and analytical finance professional ready to take on responsibilities that directly impact the business’s financial performance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monthly Management Accounts:
  Prepare and deliver precise monthly management accounts, including in-depth variance analysis to inform business decisions.

• Flash Reporting:
  Compile the monthly flash file for internal review and timely submission.

• Month-End Close:
  Prepare month-end journals, review direct expenses, and manage accruals to ensure accurate financial statements.

• Profit Margins Analysis:
  Investigate intercompany gross profit margins to maintain integrity in cross-company transactions.

• Cost Variance Review:
  Collaborate with the CS Team to analyze standard cost variances on completed work-in-progress (WIP) jobs.

• Budgeting:
  Assist with compiling and uploading annual budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• General Ledger Management:
  Prepare and update reconciliations of the general ledger to maintain financial accuracy.

• Fixed Asset Register:
  Oversee the management and maintenance of the fixed asset register.

• Capex Process:
  Facilitate the capital expenditure (Capex) process from initiation through to final delivery.

• Auditor Liaison:
  Serve as the key contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring all financial audits are efficiently completed.

• Defalcation Reporting:
  Compile and submit defalcation reports, ensuring compliance and transparency.

• Accounts Payable Support:
  Provide assistance with accounts payable functions at site level to support smooth operations.

• Ad Hoc Financial Tasks:
  Perform various other finance-related duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BCom Accounting).

  • Completion of articles and membership with a professional accounting body (advantageous).

• Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a finance/accounting environment.

• Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Advanced numeracy skills.

  • Excellent report-writing skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP).

  • Prior experience with SAP or other ERP systems (advantageous).
