Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Accountant Global Grade 11 to join our team in Boksburg. This full-time position will be responsible for preparing accurate financial statements, managing monthly and yearly financial reports, and ensuring that all accounting functions are carried out smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting, a strong understanding of finance operations, and the ability to analyze and investigate complex financial data.
This position offers the opportunity to work closely with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the overall financial health of Barloworld Equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts Preparation:

Provide accurate monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis.

Monthly Flash File and Journals:
-
Prepare and submit monthly flash files for review, along with month-end journals covering direct expenses and accruals management.

Gross Profit Margins Analysis:
-
Investigate and analyze intercompany gross profit margins to ensure they meet internal standards.

Cost Variance Analysis:
-
Work with the CS team to analyze and review standard cost variances on completed work-in-progress (WIP) jobs.

Budget Compilation:
-
Assist in the compilation and upload of the annual budget to ensure that financial goals align with the company’s objectives.

General Ledger Reconciliations:
-
Update and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in financial records and maintaining financial integrity.

Fixed Asset Management:
-
Oversee the management of the fixed asset register, ensuring all assets are accurately recorded and maintained.

Capex Process Facilitation:
-
Facilitate the entire capital expenditure (Capex) process from initiation to final delivery, ensuring effective project tracking and financial control.

Auditor Liaison:
-
Liaise with both internal and external auditors, ensuring timely submission of financial documentation and compliance with regulations.

Defalcation Reporting:
-
Compile and submit defalcation reports as required for internal and external review.

Accounts Payable Support:

Assist with site accounts payable-related functions to ensure smooth financial operations at all locations.

Ad-Hoc Financial Tasks:

Perform other finance-related tasks and projects as needed, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to business needs.

Qualifications & Experience:
-
Education:
-
A BCom Accounting degree is required. Completion of articles and membership to a recognized professional body (e.g., SAICA) is highly advantageous.

Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a finance environment, with a proven track record in accounting and financial reporting.

Skills:

Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and accuracy in financial reporting.

High-level numeracy and problem-solving skills.

Strong report writing abilities, with the ability to communicate financial data clearly to management.

Technical Skills:

Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) as a minimum.

SAP experience is a plus and will be advantageous in managing and reporting financial data effectively.
