As we continue to expand, we are looking for a talented and motivated Accountant to join our Baking operating unit in Mpumalanga. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about financial reporting, internal controls, and providing valuable information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
📊 Financial Reporting & Record Management
- Prepare accurate and timely month-end management accounts for the business unit.
- Review financial transactions and ensure proper account postings.
- Compile month-end working papers and review financial records.
- Reconcile stock variances and assist in closing stock figures processing.
- Maintain accurate provisions and accruals accounts.
📈 Monthly Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Generate reports for senior management on financial performance.
- Provide detailed Depot profitability reports and analyze monthly Cost of Sales (COS).
- Assist with weekly cash flow forecasting and month-end reporting.
📦 Stock Management & Control
- Ensure all stock-managed items are balanced between stock sheets and system processing.
- Perform spot checks and reconciliations on various stock categories (despatch, production, maintenance, workshop spares).
- Report stock variances to senior management.
📝 Internal Controls & Audits
- Conduct internal audits and surprise depot visits to review cash handling, safety procedures, and stock movement protocols.
- Collaborate with both internal and external auditors for financial reporting accuracy.
💼 Administrative & Financial Support
- Administer monthly wage reconciliations, verifying supporting information.
- Handle queries from drivers regarding debtors accounts.
- Assist the Financial Manager with general administrative duties, including stock, accounts, and reconciliations.
Minimum Requirements:
✅ Educational Qualifications:
- BComm / BComm Hons Degree or equivalent (preferably in Accounting, SAICA, or SAIPA).
✅ Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar accounting role.
✅ Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced skills required).
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
✅ Other Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Strong ability to build relationships and work well within a team.
