Job Description:
Pargo, a leading smart logistics company based in Cape Town, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to support the finance department. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining records, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
- Accurately record bank transactions in accounting software.
- Maintain up-to-date records of invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Accounts Receivables Administration:
- Conduct credit checks and create accounts in Xero for new clients.
- Generate and send invoices to clients; follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Manage collections and respond to customer queries.
- Parcel Insurance Administration:
- Oversee the insurance claims process, including submission to insurers and follow-up on required documentation for claim approval.
- General Administrative Support:
- Maintain supplier banking information.
- Provide administrative assistance to the finance team as required.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
- Experience: 0-2 years in a similar role.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) required; experience with Xero and online banking systems advantageous.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
