Role Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to oversee the accounts payable function within our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately processing payments, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining detailed records. Key Responsibilities:
✔ Invoice Processing: Review and process invoices with a focus on accuracy and compliance with company policies.
✔ Vendor Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, handle queries, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
✔ Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers, payments, and cheques in line with company procedures.
✔ Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies to ensure smooth financial operations.
✔ Expense Tracking: Monitor and report on expenses, ensuring they are allocated correctly within the financial system.
✔ Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of payments, invoices, and related documents for auditing and compliance purposes.
✔ Month-End Procedures: Assist in the month-end closing process by ensuring all accounts payable transactions are recorded and reconciled.
✔ Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
✔ General Support: Offer administrative and accounting support to the finance department as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
✔ Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
✔ Industry Experience: Experience in the retail or luxury goods sector is advantageous.
✔ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Pastel, SAP, or similar systems is a plus).
✔ Reconciliation Skills: Strong numerical and reconciliation abilities.
