Data Capturer/Administration Assistant – Germiston Care Home

Are you organized, approachable, and passionate about helping others? We are seeking a Data Capturer/Administration Assistant to join our care home team in Germiston, South Africa. As an Administration Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by supporting the Home Manager and staff with reception duties, administrative tasks, event coordination, and infection control protocols. Your professionalism and warm personality will make you the friendly face and first point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff alike.


Key Responsibilities:

Reception & Office Administration

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors and callers with a professional, friendly demeanor.

  • Maintain and update records, documents, and filing systems.

  • Schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and manage calendars.

  • Ensure visitors comply with infection control policies and assist with coordinating COVID-19 testing protocols when necessary.

Data Capturing & Reporting

  • Accurately capture data from various sources into internal systems.

  • Handle courier bookings and track document submissions.

  • Generate administrative reports and assist with finance-related documentation.

Event Coordination & Community Support

  • Assist in planning and coordinating home events such as milestone birthdays, fetes, staff presentations, and community engagements.

  • Work closely with the Activities Coordinator to help enhance resident engagement and overall morale.

  • Contribute creative ideas and logistical support to ensure successful events and activities.


What You’ll Need:

  • Prior experience in office administration, reception, or data capturing (healthcare setting is a bonus).

  • Good computer skills, particularly MS Word, Excel, and email.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • A professional and empathetic approach when dealing with residents and visitors.

  • Willingness to follow infection control procedures and assist in health and safety compliance.
