As an Admin Clerk within the Wills Control Centre, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of customer records related to wills and deceased estates, ensuring compliance with Absa’s internal standards, the Wills Act, and broader fiduciary legislation.


๐Ÿ“‹ Key Responsibilities

๐Ÿ”น Data Capturing

  • Accurately capture new and revised wills received from clients and DSV into the Wills Filing System.

  • Manage deletions of customer records following written cancellations or deceased estate notifications.

  • Perform identity checks and consolidate multiple will entries to maintain a clean and accurate database.

  • Migrate legacy records from the Magic database to the current Wills Filing System.

๐Ÿ”น Correspondence Preparation

  • Draft and send standardized letters to clients confirming will cancellations.

  • Contact clients via SMS or email for missing documentation or clarifications (e.g., joint wills needing dual authorization).

  • Prepare letters to the Master of the High Court and internal Absa Trust branches regarding estate matters and will validity.

  • Handle queries via the Wills Safe Custody helpline in a professional and timely manner.

  • Liaise with the Masterโ€™s Office and legal representatives to verify original will status and Absa Trustโ€™s executor eligibility.

๐Ÿ”น Legislative Compliance

  • Complete mandatory compliance training (e.g., FICA, risk, and safety standards).

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the Wills Act and related fiduciary regulations.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Absaโ€™s Risk and Compliance policies, including data protection and record management.


๐ŸŽ“ Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification (Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred in Business or Commerce)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year in an administrative role

    • Fiduciary experience is advantageous
