πŸ“ Job Purpose

Invest Durban, a branch of the eThekwini Municipality, seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Administration Officer to support its management team with a range of administrative functions. This role is pivotal in enabling the department’s effective operations through organized communication, record-keeping, logistical planning, and client engagement.

This position reports directly to the Manager: Administration.


πŸ“‹ Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to the department and management team.

  • Act as a liaison between the department and clients, staff, Councillors, and the public.

  • Develop, manage, and maintain a filing and register system.

  • Review Council minutes and circulars and inform management about issues impacting the department.

  • Organize meetings, conferences, presentations, seminars, and other departmental functions.

  • Arrange travel logistics for department leadership.

  • Assist with processing invoices and monitor budget-related administration.

  • Conduct research to support Managers and Deputy Heads with informed decision-making.

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) plus an Administrative Certificate or equivalent

  • Valid driver’s license

  • 3 years of relevant administrative experience

  • Strong computer literacy

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Administration or related field

  • 4 years of relevant experience in public sector or large organizational administration
