Are you an experienced administrator passionate about faith-driven service and supporting organizational excellence? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking a skilled Administrative Assistant to join our Special Projects Department in Johannesburg. This is a unique opportunity to support the sacred work of maintaining temples—ensuring an uplifting and inspiring experience for all patrons.

As an Administrative Assistant, you’ll provide high-level support to the Area Temple Facilities Manager and wider department. You’ll perform a wide variety of responsibilities, from calendar management to budget coordination, in a professional, confidential, and spiritually aligned setting.


📋 Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality documents, reports, charts, and graphs.

  • Maintain and coordinate calendars, meetings, and appointments.

  • Manage travel bookings and accommodation logistics.

  • Review, route, and respond to incoming mail and routine inquiries.

  • Handle telephone calls and support internal and external communication.

  • Provide administrative support for department programs and projects.

  • Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and internal operations.

  • Act as liaison for administrative matters with internal teams and external contacts.

  • Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare actionable recommendations.

  • Support orientation and training of new or lower-level employees.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality with all sensitive documents and information.


✅ Minimum Qualifications

  • Temple Recommend: Must be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.

  • Education: High School diploma + 2 years of post-secondary education or training.

  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years in a similar administrative or executive assistant role.

  • Skills Required:

    • Excellent communication (written & verbal).

    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    • Advanced MS Office skills: Word (Experienced), Excel (Basic), and PowerPoint (Essentials).

    • Strong analytical, research, and data summarization capabilities.

    • Ability to write correspondence independently.

    • Judgment, timeliness, and accuracy in decision-making.

    • Knowledge of Church standards and values is essential.
