The University of Pretoria (UP) invites applications for the role of Administrative Officer within the Pre-University Academy (UP-PUA), based in the Faculty of Education. This exciting opportunity is ideal for an experienced administrator with a strong background in office management, financial administration, and event coordination. The successful candidate will support UP-PUA and the Career Hub with seamless operational and administrative execution.
Key Responsibilities
As the Administrative Officer, you will play a pivotal role in:

Managing the day-to-day administrative functions of the UP-PUA office.

Acting as Secretariat for the UP-PUA and Career Hub—ensuring accurate documentation, record-keeping, and follow-ups.
-
Handling financial processing, including budgeting and project administration.
-
Coordinating learner data processes to maintain integrity and compliance.
-
Managing internal and external communications and liaisons with stakeholders.
-
Leading event planning and marketing efforts for UP-PUA and Career Hub initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
-
Three-year National Diploma in Office Administration (or similar) with at least 2 years of relevant experience,
OR
Grade 12 with 4 years of relevant experience.
Skills & Competencies
-
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
-
Office administration and management.
-
Secretarial and project admin capabilities.
-
Financial administration and event coordination.
-
Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
-
A relevant degree in administration or education support.
-
Project management/event coordination diploma or certification.
-
Experience in an academic/tertiary environment.
-
Familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft (especially the financial module).

Budgeting and public relations experience.
