We are currently looking for an Analyst: Credit Book Control to join our team and contribute to minimizing bad debt, enhancing profit, and controlling risk for both Capitec Business Bank (CBB) and Capitec Rental Finance (CRF). About the Role:
As an Analyst: Credit Book Control, you will play a key role in managing and optimizing credit risk within Capitec. You will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on various credit book segments, implementing tactical strategies, and ensuring effective collections and recovery processes. Your ability to monitor risk, mitigate bad debt, and contribute to the development of effective risk management solutions will be critical to your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
β Credit Risk Analysis: Analyze credit book trends, including reasons for arrears, risk grade changes, and write-offs, and report on these findings.
β Debt Mitigation & Control: Contribute to the development of strategies to reduce bad debt and enhance profitability for Capitec Business Bank and Capitec Rental Finance.
β Portfolio Monitoring: Identify high-risk portfolios and clients, and monitor changes in credit book segmentation and risk indicators.
β Collections & Recoveries: Participate in pre-delinquent collections, arrears follow-ups, and recoveries, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
β Root Cause Analysis: Perform in-depth case studies and root cause analysis on non-performing loans, pre-delinquent accounts, and arrears.
β Reporting & Data Analytics: Provide insightful reports and leverage data analytics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in credit book performance.
β Risk Management Solutions: Contribute to the research, design, and implementation of optimal risk management solutions related to credit policies and processes.
β Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as collections, recoveries, and risk management to ensure effective execution of strategies.
What You Will Bring:
β Experience:
- At least 2β3 years of experience in collections, recoveries, or credit management.
- Practical experience in analyzing credit data for reporting and monitoring purposes.
- Credit and business analysis experience, including influencing processes, policies, and procedures.
β Qualifications:
- Higher Certificate in Credit Management or Banking (minimum).
- A National Diploma in Accounting, Financial Accounting, or Banking is ideal.
β Skills & Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of credit legislation, including the National Credit Act (NCA).
- Strong understanding of collections and recoveries systems, processes, and practices.
- Familiarity with reporting and data analytics for credit book monitoring.
- Experience with credit risk management throughout the credit life cycle.
- SQL programming knowledge and experience with database structures is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and numerical reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook).
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
