Role Overview
We are seeking a Professionally Registered Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Land Infrastructure team based in Cape Town. As an Associate Civil Engineer focused on Wet Utilities, you will take a leading role in the design and technical delivery of water, sewer, stormwater, and irrigation infrastructure projects. Your expertise in these fields will be crucial as we continue to provide innovative and efficient solutions to clients in the Middle Eastern region, particularly in the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In this position, you will oversee a skilled team of engineers and be responsible for ensuring high-quality technical outcomes and the success of multi-disciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- 🏗️ Lead Design of complex water transmission, sewage conveyance, and stormwater management systems, including the development of storage and pumping systems.
- 🔧 Utilize Digital Tools for 3D modeling, BIM processes, and utility infrastructure coordination.
- 📝 Oversee Project Deliverables: including technical reports, specifications, and tender documents.
- 👥 Line Management: Manage a team, including performance reviews, workload distribution, task delegation, and mentoring.
- 🌍 Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with local authorities, architects, and master planners to meet project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
- 📈 Support Business Development: Contribute to winning bids and tenders by preparing compelling proposals and technical solutions.
- 💡 Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert, offering innovative and practical design solutions while promoting continuous improvement within the team.
Minimum Requirements:
- 🎓 Education: BSc/BEng Degree or BTech in Civil Engineering.
- 📜 Professional Registration: Pr Eng or Pr Tech (with ECSA) and at least 5 years post-registration experience.
- 🛠️ Experience: Minimum of 10 years in stormwater and wet utilities design with a strong history in leading design teams.
- 🖥️ Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Revit, Bentley, or similar software, as well as MS Office Suite and BIM processes.
