Job Description:

WSP Africa is looking for a skilled Building Performance Modeller/Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-performance design analysis and modelling for building optimization, green building certification, and energy compliance. You will play a key part in driving sustainable building solutions and ensuring energy efficiency in the built environment.

As a Building Performance Modeller, you will focus on:

✔ Key Responsibilities:

• Develop building model geometry from architectural plans in various formats.
• Utilize and extract building models from REVIT to perform detailed energy modelling and analysis.
• Use IES VE modelling software for whole-building energy analysis.
• Lead energy performance analysis to meet Green Star, LEED, and energy code compliance.
• Troubleshoot model results to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Provide recommendations for improving building performance and sustainability through written reports.
• Advocate for initiatives that improve indoor environmental quality and reduce carbon emissions.
• Manage time effectively, ensuring projects stay within budget constraints.
• Collaborate with internal teams to achieve sustainability goals and objectives.

✔ Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency with 3D modelling software such as Revit, Solid Works, SketchUp, and IES VE.
• 1-2 years of experience with energy modelling and analysis software.
• Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, lighting, etc.) and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of Green Star and LEED certification processes is a plus.
• Experience with energy performance benchmarking and common energy modelling tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Report writing skills and ability to interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Passion for sustainability and addressing climate change through green building initiatives.

• Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning abilities for problem-solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
