  • Duration: Not exceeding 18 months
  • Minimum Requirements:
    • Grade 12/NQF level 4
    • A Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, or Energy Studies (NQF level 7)
    • Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg
    • Must have never participated in an internship programme before

Primary Function:

Facilitate and coordinate climate change initiatives within the City of Johannesburg, including developing policies, strategies, and plans to ensure the implementation of climate change measures.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Administration and record-keeping
  • Support the development of the City’s Climate Action Tracking tools
  • Conduct site visits, compile findings and recommendations into reports, and share them with relevant stakeholders

  • Computer literacy, including MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Report writing
