Internship Opportunity Overview:

SANParks invites applications for an Internship Programme at Tsitsikamma National Park, based in Gauteng, Pretoria. This programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the Technical Services Department. The position is suited for individuals who have a passion for engineering and conservation, and are eager to contribute to SANParks’ mission.


Key Responsibilities:

Building & Civil Engineering Support:
Assist with ongoing technical and engineering projects within the park, including infrastructure maintenance and development.

Technical Services Assistance:
Work alongside senior engineers to support the department in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of engineering solutions for the park’s infrastructure.

Site Inspections & Reports:
Conduct site inspections and assist in preparing reports related to engineering projects, including progress assessments, and maintenance plans.

Sustainability Initiatives:
Assist with initiatives aimed at improving the sustainability of the park’s infrastructure, ensuring environmental standards are upheld.

Collaboration with Teams:
Work closely with various teams within the park to ensure the smooth running of engineering projects and maintenance activities.


Requirements:

Age Requirement: 18 – 35 years
South African Citizenship
Educational Qualification:

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Building or Civil Engineering from a recognized South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI).

Experience Requirements:

  • Must be an unemployed graduate and not have participated in any internship or placement programme before.

Residency:

  • Candidates must reside within the Eastern Cape Province.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Building or Civil Engineering (NQF Level 6 or 7)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn within the field of engineering.
