About the Area
Discovery Connect Distribution Services (DCDS) is a call center environment that helps clients explore and purchase Discovery products. As part of the DCDS team, the Risk and Compliance Support Administrator ensures adherence to industry standards, legislation, regulations, and best practices, applying risk management principles to various business functions.
π Key Purpose
The Risk and Compliance Support Administrator supports the risk and compliance team and business units, executing activities essential to achieving DCDS risk and compliance goals. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the delivery of projects and objectives in line with compliance standards.
Key Outputs
π Compliance Responsibilities:
- Maintain FAIS Rep Register: Ensure accurate maintenance of the register.
- Support Representatives: Assist representatives with CMS applications and follow up on compliance requirements.
- Processing Sign-Offs: Manage supervision sign-offs and ensure compliance with fit and proper requirements.
- System Onboarding: Handle the capturing and onboarding of new representatives onto the system.
- Commission Code Management: Request commission codes for representatives based on their FSCA registrations.
- Investigations: Conduct investigations related to representatives when necessary.
βοΈ Operational Risk Responsibilities:
- Risk Incident Management: Add, follow up, and update risk incidents and KRI (Key Risk Indicator) status.
- BarnOwl Updates: Maintain and update BarnOwl with new and existing risk information.
- Risk Register Maintenance: Extract and manage the Risk Register for GRM and audits.
- Reporting: Document and report on Risk Catch-Up Sessions, ensuring notes and actions are captured accurately.
π― Competencies & Skills Required:
- Communication Skills: Strong listening and communication abilities to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives.
- Time Management: Efficient in managing multiple tasks with quick turnaround times.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in managing data, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Business Understanding: Familiarity with business procedures, rules, and controls in risk and compliance.
π§βπ Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: Recognized qualification (NQF Level 4 or equivalent).
- Experience: 1-3 years in a similar role or environment, with a basic understanding of Discovery’s business processes.
- Administrative Skills: Experience in administrative tasks involving multiple stakeholders and concurrent activities.
