SAB ARPL Traineeships

South African Breweries (SAB) is calling on experienced individuals who lack formal artisan qualifications to apply for its Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) Trainee Programme 2025. This is a valuable opportunity to become a qualified artisan, backed by QCTO, NAMB, and DHET accreditation.

If you’ve been working in a trade but don’t yet hold a formal trade certificate, this programme is designed for you. It helps turn your existing skills and experience into a recognized qualification through a structured and certified trade test process.


Trades Available in the ARPL Programme

  • Millwright

  • Fitter & Turner

  • Fitter

  • Electrical

  • Instrumentation & Control


Who Should Apply?

You are eligible if you have relevant work experience in one of the above trades and meet any of the following qualifications:

✅ N2 Certificate (with trade theory) + 3 years relevant experience
✅ Technical Trade Theory Programme (NQF 3) + 3 years relevant experience
✅ Engineering NCV Level 3 + 3 years relevant experience
✅ Engineering NCV Level 4 (all modules complete) + 18 months experience
✅ Technical Grade 12 (Maths, Science, relevant trade theory) + 3 years experience
✅ Grade 9 + 4 years relevant work experience
✅ Relevant N6 Certificate or National Technical Diploma (T/S/N stream) + 18 months experience
