A company specializing in services for the mining industry is currently seeking a meticulous and skilled Assistant Accountant to join their team. This role will involve assisting in daily accounting tasks crucial for maintaining financial transparency and accuracy in reporting.
Responsibilities:
Invoice and Reconciliation Management:
- Capture and verify supplier invoices accurately.
- Conduct regular supplier and ad-hoc reconciliations.
- Post journals to the general ledger and supplier ledger.
Cashbook and Account Transactions:
- Allocate cashbook transactions with precision.
- Balance inter-company account transactions effectively.
Invoicing and Payments:
- Generate customer invoices promptly.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts related to invoicing.
- Process and oversee bank payments, including requests from foreign creditors.
Asset and Inventory Management:
- Maintain control over fixed assets and reconcile them regularly.
- Assist in managing basic inventory tasks as required.
Financial Processes:
- Support month-end and year-end processes under guidance.
- Perform various ad-hoc administrative duties to support the finance team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance role preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data processing.
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
