🧾 About the Role

We are looking for a detail-driven and compliance-focused Assistant Accountant – Assets & Finance to join our finance team at our Musina operation. In this role, you will support all Fixed Assets accounting functions, manage the asset register, ensure IFRS compliance, and contribute to business improvement initiatives. You’ll report directly into the mine’s financial leadership and help ensure robust financial controls and governance.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the complete Fixed Asset Register in line with mine policy, IFRS (IAS 16 & IAS 36), and ICFR/SOX compliance.

  • Conduct month-end and year-end procedures: depreciation calculations, impairment reviews, asset verification, and reassessments.

  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts related to depreciation and asset changes.

  • Analyse asset information and support operational decisions through accurate reporting.

  • Develop and manage Fixed Asset policies and procedures for continual business improvement.

  • Participate in project and capital accounting with close integration to business operations.

  • Support the Cost and Financial Accountant as required.

📚 Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / N3 or equivalent (NQF 4)

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or Cost Management

  • 3+ years in general finance, cost accounting, or auditing

  • 1 year of SAP experience (especially Fixed Assets and Projects modules) is advantageous

  • Must obtain a Red Ticket (Medical Fitness Certificate)

  • Subject to criminal record and qualification verification

  • Strong understanding of IAS 16 and IAS 36 Fixed Asset standards

  • Cost and management accounting proficiency

  • Solid financial reporting and budgeting skills

  • Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Business acumen and ability to work cross-functionally
