🚚 Job Overview

The Assistant DC Manager / Inbound Outbound Manager will support the Distribution Centre (DC) Manager in day-to-day logistics operations and staff leadership. You will ensure the efficiency of receiving, inventory control, and rework processes, while maintaining productivity, safety, and compliance standards.

This critical leadership role involves both operational execution and strategic coordination with suppliers, transporters, the import team, and internal departments. You’ll help maintain a smooth supply chain and stock accuracy, while reinforcing Pepkor’s values of performance and excellence.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Assist the DC Manager in daily operations and act as second-in-command

• Manage receiving, inventory control, and rework departments

• Lead and supervise cross-functional teams to ensure performance targets are met

• Ensure compliance with Pepkor policies and health & safety regulations

• Collaborate with the import team on daily container planning and stock flow

• Monitor KPIs and update DC metrics (UPM, productivity reports, etc.)

• Oversee general admin and IT issue resolution with internal departments

• Approve SAP orders and manage stock take planning

• Liaise with HR and ensure compliance with labour and industrial relations policies

• Reinforce a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

🎓 Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (3-year qualification)

• Proven experience in DC/warehouse operations

• Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

• High computer literacy (G-Suite essential)

• SAP proficiency is an advantage

• Minimum 3–5 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role in warehousing
