๐ Purpose of the Role
To oversee, develop, manage, and coordinate all occupational skills programmes and learnership projects within the College. The role ensures programme quality, compliance, curriculum responsiveness, stakeholder engagement, and successful delivery of occupational training aligned with industry needs and national skills priorities.

๐ Programme Development & Management
-
Identify and manage learnerships, internships, and occupational programmes.

Conduct feasibility assessments for new, responsive programmes.

Develop flexible curriculum aligned to industry & community needs.

Manage programme planning, scheduling, and quality assurance systems.

Implement assessment, moderation, and performance record processes.

Develop and manage occupational programme budgets.

Identify material, tools, and resource needs for programme delivery.

Oversee expenditure tracking and project budgeting.

Coordinate procurement of equipment required for simulations and training.
๐ Project Planning & Monitoring

Develop project plans with milestones, timeframes, and resource allocation.

Monitor project progress, learner performance, targets, and compliance.

Review learnership policy and ensure adherence across delivery sites.

Manage performance and development of learnership facilitators.

Identify skills gaps and implement capacity-building initiatives.

Ensure use of best-practice teaching methods (e.g., lesson planning).

Coordinate regular internal meetings and assign work within the Unit.

Manage student registration and contract signing.

Maintain accurate records, registers, and document control systems.

Oversee payments to facilitators and programme delivery sites.

Engage SETAs, community forums, local businesses, and government partners.

Ensure partnership compliance and alignment with College objectives.

Participate in curriculum initiatives initiated by SETAs.

Identify workplace simulation needs for each programme.

Develop simulation plans and support College initiatives for practical training.

Monitor workplace learning quality across sites.

Compile annual operational plan for the Unit.

Manage Unitโs budget, cash flow, and resource allocation.

Conduct performance appraisals and monitor staff development.

Provide regular reports to Academic Board and senior management.
