🎯 Job Purpose

Support the Store Manager in ensuring efficient store operations, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and achieving sales and profit targets to maintain a competitive edge for the brand.


đź“‹ Key Responsibilities

Sales & Financial Performance

  • Drive sales through promotions, cross-selling, and up-selling initiatives.

  • Achieve store financial targets, including budgets and profitability.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily store activities—expenses, stock management, shrinkage, and administration.

  • Maintain high visual merchandising and brand presentation standards.

Team Leadership

  • Motivate and guide staff to meet performance goals.

  • Manage work schedules in line with labour policy and staffing requirements.

Customer Service

  • Implement in-store service initiatives to enhance customer loyalty.

  • Achieve Clicks ClubCard participation targets.

Administration & Compliance

  • Complete HR administration, including time and attendance records.

  • Ensure compliance with risk, cost, and stock management policies.


📚 Requirements

Education

  • Essential: Grade 12 (50% in Maths and English).

  • Essential: Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification.

  • Desirable: Degree in Retail/Business Management.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year in an Assistant Store Manager role within retail/FMCG or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.

  • Financial management experience (budgets, P&L, ratios).

Skills & Knowledge

  • Financial management principles.

  • Retail/FMCG merchandising and promotions.

  • Customer service excellence.

  • Labour legislation & IR practices.

  • People management and competency-based interviewing.

  • Numeracy, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literacy.
