🚀 Main Purpose of the Role
As the Assistant Manager in Transport Solutions, your primary mission is to oversee and optimise daily transport operations. This includes carrier performance monitoring, stakeholder communication, risk mitigation, documentation accuracy, and driving SLA performance. You’ll be the crucial link between carriers, warehouse teams, clients, and internal stakeholders—ensuring seamless execution from dispatch to delivery.
🧠 Key Responsibilities
Transport Operations & Management

Monitor carrier compliance and SLA performance (inbound/outbound/returns).

Resolve operational issues, delays, and service challenges in real-time.

Act as the first escalation point for customer service and carriers.

Review transport order progress, analyse risks, and find capacity opportunities.

Facilitate strong communication and relationship building across all parties.

Track and trace shipments, manage cross-border logistics, and maintain KPIs.
Reporting & Compliance

Report on SLA achievements and performance metrics weekly.

Ensure transport documentation, templates, and systems are maintained and compliant.

Handle incident reports and claims in accordance with established protocols.

Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and manage audit readiness.
Strategic Relationship & Process Management

Work closely with clients to deliver value-added solutions.

Identify and implement process improvements.

Assist in change management and training initiatives across teams.

Ensure compliance with safety and HSE regulations.
✅ Qualifications & Experience
Education:
-
Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain and/or Transport Management.
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years in logistics transport operations.
-
Proven experience in relationship management with clients and carriers.

Expertise in warehouse and transport environments.
-
Exposure to retail and international logistics is a plus.
💻 Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Highly skilled in Excel for data management and analysis.

Experience with tracking and tracing systems.
