About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head Pastry Chef, the Baker will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality bakery items while ensuring consistent standards of presentation, taste, and quality. This role involves managing stock rotation, food cost control, kitchen hygiene, and supervising junior staff in a fast-paced 5-star hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, bake, and present a variety of bakery items and artisan bread for daily service and special functions.

Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, preparation, and portion control standards.

Train, mentor, and supervise junior staff, ensuring adherence to operational procedures.

Plan daily operations, forecast demand, and manage time effectively to meet service requirements.

Manage inventory, monitor stock rotation, and control food cost and wastage.

Ensure compliance with kitchen hygiene, food safety, and SOP standards.

Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff, ensuring smooth handovers and coordination.

Perform additional duties as requested to support the kitchen team and hotel operations.
Requirements

Recognized culinary qualification with at least 3 years of experience in a similar bakery or pastry operation.

Prior experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality environment is highly recommended.

Strong knowledge of bakery products, artisan bread, and culinary techniques.

Ability to work under pressure and maintain high-quality standards consistently.
