JOB OVERVIEW

NewBridge Graduate Institute invites applications for BEd Foundation Phase Lecturers to teach on the Bachelor of Education programme. The role involves academic delivery, content development, assessment, and supervision within the Foundation Phase stream.

Lecturers will contribute to the programme from 2028 onwards, subject to qualification accreditation, and will support both theoretical instruction and work-integrated learning components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop Foundation Phase learning content and academic modules

• Deliver lectures aligned with BEd curriculum standards

• Design, administer, and moderate assessments

• Supervise teaching practice and work-integrated learning

• Provide academic guidance and student support

• Administer student learning activities and academic records

• Collect and respond to student feedback to enhance teaching quality

• Contribute to academic excellence and programme improvement

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Foundation Phase teaching experience (minimum two years preferred)

• Prior lecturing experience in a BEd programme is advantageous

• Experience teaching in contact and online learning environments

• Strong computer literacy and digital teaching skills

• Alignment with curriculum and assessment requirements

• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organisational skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• NQF Level 8 qualification in Education with relevance to Foundation Phase teaching

• Applicants with Intermediate or Senior Phase Education qualifications and Foundation Phase teaching experience may also be considered

• Proficiency in at least two of the following languages:

  • English

  • Afrikaans

  • isiZulu
