JOB OVERVIEW

NewBridge Graduate Institute invites applications for Lecturers in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) Foundation Phase programme. The role involves contributing to module development, lecturing, assessment, and supervision within the Foundation Phase teaching stream.

Successful candidates will participate in delivering academic content from 2028 onwards, subject to qualification accreditation, and will support both theoretical instruction and work-integrated learning components.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain Foundation Phase teaching modules aligned with curriculum standards
Deliver lectures for BEd Foundation Phase modules using blended and contact learning approaches
Design, administer, and moderate assessments
Supervise teaching practice and work-integrated learning
Support student learning, engagement, and academic development
Provide academic administration related to teaching and assessment
Collect, analyse, and respond to student feedback to improve learning outcomes
Contribute to programme quality assurance and academic excellence

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

NQF Level 8 qualification in Education with a focus on Foundation Phase teaching
Applicants with Intermediate or Senior Phase Education qualifications and Foundation Phase teaching experience may also be considered

Experience

At least two years’ Foundation Phase teaching experience preferred
Prior lecturing experience in a Bachelor of Education programme is advantageous
Experience in both in-person and online teaching environments

Skills

Ability to teach Foundation Phase subjects including Languages, Mathematics, and/or Robotics
Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: English, Afrikaans, isiZulu
Strong curriculum alignment and assessment skills
High level of computer literacy and digital teaching competence
Effective communication, collaboration, and student engagement skills
